Elastic Group chooses 48TB SPACE and more
Long standing Eureka customer Elastic chose GB Labs for their new remote workflow solution. Elastic is an independent Australian creative agency and has been a GB Labs customer for over ten years. With its innovative approach to client strategy, visual communication and delivery, Elastic aims to deliver competitive advantage for notable brands in Government, FMCG, auto, construction, luxury goods, charities and more.
From art direction and graphic design, video production, editing and animation, its motion design and production studio teams build campaigns from storyboard to post-production.
The vast collection of creative, cutting-edge animation and production files is now managed with GB Labs’ reliable, secure and expandable media storage solutions.
In 2023, Elastic decided to make a strategic move to fortify the synergy between their two offices in Sydney and Melbourne and turned to GB Labs for an innovative solution.

Elastic acquired a storage solution comprising a 48TB SPACE server which they upgraded with a disk pack to increase capacity. In addition, a new FastNAS F-16 Nitro server was acquired for the Sydney office, and a smaller FastNAS F8 Nitro server for the Melbourne office.
To enhance connectivity and collaboration more effectively and efficiently between the teams in the two offices, they adopted UnifyHub which is seamlessly integrated within their operating system to establish a multi-site workflow.
With UnifyHub, the two teams in both offices can collaborate on the same footage, without physically moving or syncing the data between sites. The remote staff are able to edit off-site following work from home requirements, which were introduced during the pandemic, in 2020.
“Unify Hub has allowed our two offices in Sydney and Melbourne to collaborate in a much more seamless and timely way.
Gone are the days of sending hard drives with terabytes of footage, as we can now work on the same projects, as if we were working off a single server. We are excited for Unify Hub to change the way we work, reducing the amount of project management admin, and utilise our team to its full capabilities.” Arinne Liew - Head of Post-Production
The teams are consistently shooting campaigns and there are always large amounts of footage that they need to transfer between the two offices. Previously this process was very manual, and they often had to send hard drives between the two, which not only took time to copy, track, and manage the transfer, but also wait time for postage.

UnifyHub simplifies the entire process, as well as making sure that the entire post-production team is working off the same files and projects, avoiding any confusion to versioning and any unwanted duplicates. Elastic's team can seamlessly scrub through a large volume of footage with smooth playback, and once cached as part of UnifyHub's automatic caching, footage can then be accessed by the whole team from both offices as this was integrated into their current workflows with no complications, as there was no additional software, plugins, or processes needed.
The ability to work across two major cities using Unify Hub has allowed Elastic to utilise their team to full capability and saved time, which is re-invested back into their work.
